That's interesting. So, you intend on monitoring an EAS box located in Washington D.C. that monitors LP1 WTOP-FM, for use by a station in Washington State? I've heard other stations on the various remailers talk about doing this too, but they've never given me an answer as to how monitoring an EAS box located across the country helps them comply locally. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being critical. I just don't understand how that method would work.
Gotcha, we're talking about a FEMA audio channel. That makes more sense. I'm very familiar with the SAGE EAS box at SXM because I was somewhat responsible for it. It was set up to receive the typical IPAWS Internet traffic and they monitor WTOP as the LP1.
I couldn't fathom why someone would use that as an EAS relay from hundreds of miles away.
