Live 105 dj

Anyone know if Live 105 hired anyone from that post saying they wanted ppl w no dj experience? With very little pay? Wondering who would even consider that job other than a kid who lives at home? It’s so insulting to actual radio people.

I'd rather work for iHeart 80s Plus at 103.7 and yes, I spent many years working for their sister station WiLD 94-9!

The job posting is still active:

As for pay:

The anticipated starting salary range for California based individuals expressing interest in this position is $75,000 to $90,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity. Audacy offers full time employees with a comprehensive benefits package to include: health care coordinator, medical, dental, vision, telemedicine, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, disability, life insurance, critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, paid time off (sick, vacation, personal, parental, volunteer), 401(k) retirement plan, discounted employee stock purchase, student loan payment assistance program, legal assistance, life assistance program, identity theft protection, discounted home and auto insurance, and pet insurance.

There are also on-air personality postings for Alice and 102 Jams...all in that same $75-$95K range---likely AFTRA minimums.

Interesting. I heard Audacy hires you at that rate and then you also voice track a bunch of other stations. Sounds like they want cheap labor, have one person do the job of four.

Which has been fairly standard practice for more than a decade. Big bucks for not much work went away a long time ago in radio.

On the other hand, the job itself doesn't require one to put in 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. So there's time to do other things.

Keep in mind there are people doing this work for free on their home-brew internet stations. Getting any money with health insurance is a big step up.
