99.1 FM stunting with BTH

New station I’m referring to is Rumba 107.3 HD2
The Throwback 99.1 station is also on WMMS-HD3. However, there is a problem with the signal as it cuts in and out. One of my HD tuners did not find it at first and eventually did. The 100.7 HD1 and HD2 channels are fine and my reception is excellent so there is some technical issue on the HD3 Throwback channel. As I recall, there was a similar problem when the Alt Rock was still on.

Was in Cuyahoga Falls near the old Chapel Hill mall and tried to see if I could pick it up, I did, but cut in and out and pretty scratchy but I guess that's to be expected seeing as how I was just past the "distant" fringe according to radio-locator.com

History shows that expanding playlists usually backfires, leading to loss of listeners to competitors playing fewer songs, but more that are consensus hits.
This station in the spring was playing a few pop core artists on high rotation and brought in low ratings. They have slightly expanded the playlist and are doing better.

I heard three different bands today and a quite a few of those “oh wow “ songs from early 2008-2010. It seems like they are going for an uptempo multigenre CHR sound (with recurrents).

I think that's representative of what CHR is doing now, with a shortage of new hit music. They're looking outside the genre too.

I saw they played Baby Bash from 2003. Another song from 2004. So yes, more old music. Although just one spin each.

But the playlist is still around 200 songs a week.

Just for clarification, was this the 99.1 frequency or the 100.7 HD3?

The best part about this station is that it sounds like Cleveland/Northeast Ohio! Hearing Leanne Sommer after the first song was uplifting and brought it back to the Jammin’ 92.3 days. Then Allen Colon was on at 7pm, he’s been on 96.5 for sometime. They’ve had deejays all weekend. It doesn’t sound like a juke box. Kudos to all involved in bringing this station to The Land.
