WGBH (GBH) , politically biased

Yesterday, I heard a self proclaimed conservative call into the Jim and Margery talk show on WGBH 89.7. At the end of the call, Margery thanked the caller (paraphrasing) because where not conservative around here? Shouldn't a Public Broadcasting station strive to serve all of the public and be politically unbiased.

Are you asking about the station, or the particular hosts?

They took her call, didn't they? They let her speak. They were polite. Did they criticize the caller? Why did the person call in? Were they asking for people to get into a political discussion, or did the person go there seeking to create a political discussion? A little context would help.

The show was about Trump and the election. You can listen to it here for what was said by the caller and hosts:

Pretty simple, One of the two hosts admitted to being politically biased, liberal, left leaning, on a public broadcasting radio station that is in part, tax payer funded. If this were a commercial, privately owned station or network OK.

That's not what they said. They also talked about invoking the 25th amendment on Biden. That's not liberal.

They took the call, they let the caller speak, and thanked them. What more do you want? It's called free speech.

At what point did one of the hosts "admit" to a political bias? Margery Eagan's comment was: "this is not a conservative show." One possible interpretation of her remark is that the show is balanced and impartial, to wit, neither conservative nor liberal.

Nobody is unbiased. It seeps through eventually.

Best action you can take is to not give them money.

Upset about hearing stuff contrary to your beliefs that tells the truth and attempts to tell both sides of the story while Fox, OANN nd NewsMax tell half truths and only one side?

The amount of taxpayer money that goes to stations amounts to about 1 cup of gas station coffee a year., Give me your address, I'll mail you the $3 out of my own pocket.

But GBH is a non-profit that receives goverment money and tax breaks. The other are not / do not. And are under the auspices of state charity regulators. The others are not.
None of which changes the fact that it's a private non-profit enterprise, and as such, it gets to determine what content it chooses to broadcast.

Well, one would expect higher standards (and responsibilities) than FNC, OANN, and NewsMax.
