Chama radio station sold

From what I understand, the radio station at 96.1 in Chama was sold, possibly to Don Davis. Its call letters might be changing to KFLH, from what I understand. I haven't been able to find any information yet about whether the format has changed. Does anybody know?

I used to stream it sometimes and listen while passing through Chama. I don't live in the state now, but I'm from there! I'm not aware of a way to stream it at this time.

Yes, the station was sold to Don Davis. As his consultant, I did a lot of the research for the Classic Hits/Classic Rock hybrid format that he installed there a couple of weeks ago. And the calls have been changed to KFLH as a tribute to Scott Flury and Bud Healey, who operated the previous incarnation of 96.1 from 1999 to 2016 under those calls.

There is history here befitting the tribute. Flury worked for Davis' KKJY back in the 1990s and it was Davis who urged Flury to go after the vacant Chama allocation in the first place.

Stream is still pending.

Thanks so much for the quick reply and for providing that information! That's some really interesting history there. :)

I look forward to streaming it when it comes online!

Interesting - I thought Don Davis already owned it a couple of years back when it was KXJR. He was voicing some of the sweepers and IDs.

And that is what ultimately led to his purchase of same.

I need to correct something I said here, because I had a misconception of what the situation is.

Don Davis does not own the station; an old friend of his bought it and Don is programming it under a LMA. Music research, etc. for same still falls under my consulting agreement with him.

Everything else I said is correct, according to Don.
