Unable to read the forum for weeks

Went into the forums and reloaded the ones I'm interested in so everything is back to normal. Still curious about why that oops message kept showing up.

As a reminder - if you're asking for help, it's very helpful to us if you tell us how you're accessing the site. Phone? Desktop? What browser and OS?

I'm on a amateur radio board using the same XenForo platform and sometimes shoots that. Admin there says sometimes when the server itself does cron jobs or other functions you'll get the Oops.

Safari has been unresponsive when logged in for a month on iOS and MacOS. When not logged in it’s fine.

I was told nothing was wrong when clearly there is an issue.

An issue affecting one or two users with limited information given is not something we can easily troubleshoot. As with any site full of constantly updating content and data there becomes millions of variables in play.

If it works when you're not logged in, but not when you are it would most likely be a browser cookie issue. Try deleting all cookies saved in your browser for the site. But we cannot troubleshoot anything when someone just says they saw text indicating a problem once.

The problem only persists on this site from multiple machines. It’s clearly something on your end that started a month ago.

I have several machines on Win10, Linux Mint and Mac OS. And when the Mac machine did a little update it did have a burp, but got it elsewhere. A screen shot would be of help. On the amateur forum they ask for screens to figure out stuff.

I've been doing web development and support for decades. A screenshot at most gives 25% of the total picture and the majority of what people believe are issues on the server side or site end are almost always on the user end. The most common fix is usually a cache/cookie flush for the site on the local end. That's why I usually start there.

I always flush cookies regularly. So unless a bad cookie was getting thrown in I’m not sure what changed.

I have gotten the "Oops! We ran into some problems" message, but it's always been when trying to post. And it's been followed by "please wait x number of seconds." I always thought it was some kind of anti-spam measure.
