MLB All Star Game Ratings Up

Good game for six innings, then the bullpen arms overpowered the second- and third-string All-Star hitters from the seventh on. I miss the days when the All-Star starting lineup (excluding pitcher) stayed in the game beyond a couple of at-bats -- although if that was the case this year, Jarren Duran, the young Red Sox outfielder who hit the game-winning home run in the sixth, might not have appeared in the game until the ninth, if at all.
MLB has been doing a better job promoting its young talent -- Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, etc. Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge attract eyeballs, too. Refreshing to see. Maybe there's hope for the game yet.
The number might not have been huge, but even with its flaws, MLB still puts on a more competitive-looking All-Star Game than the NFL and NBA do with their cretinous aberrations of their respective sports. Why anyone watches the NBA's All-Star Game is beyond me. The sports fan gene pool must be cratering.

The whole thing seemed kind of flat this year. Homer totals were way down and most of the big stars didn't participate. I didn't care much for the new format, either. Maybe, like the NBA's slam dunk contest, it's permanently lost its appeal.
The stadium sucked from a TV standpoint for HR derby. I hate the new format, no real drama in it. That and most were not home run hitters.
