Mix107.9's Ramona Holloway

Sorry to see Ramona depart. I wonder if they considered returning her to the morning show before bringing on Liz Luda. The show had always been most successful as Matt and Ramona. However, apparently she could not adjust to the move from afternoons to mornings, and they created the new public affairs position for her. Now the victim of budget cuts.

Perhaps one of the TV stations could add her as a permanent host on one of their lifestyle talk shows. She has guest hosted on WCNC and WBTV, and also hosted The Edge on WCCB. And on WBTV Mary King just left that QC Morning show to focus on the morning news, so looks like there could be an option there with Kristen Miranda. They have that Jorge Andres bouncing between the studio and out in the field. Looks like a good spot for Ramona there if they would choose to fill it. She has guest hosted there before, and brings personality to the show.

I'm pleased The Observer covered the story. They had very good coverage of radio and TV for many years, but not recently. The man who writes about radio now does do some detailed articles once in a while, but many of the changes I learn about here.

Yes I miss Mark Washburn radio/TV coverage. Now it seems hit or miss, but has improved recently. But the Observer is only distributed Sundays west of Charlotte in Asheville and Greenville-Spartanburg areas. And they are cutting back to Sunday, Wednesday and Friday only for the print edition. Changing times as their digital edition has expanded.

"Edition" isn't worth much. I may be relying on radio and TV a lot more. I don't have time for a bunch of stories that may or may not be appearing in print. I'm trying to cut down on my online time, and without a substantial reduction in my cost, I won't subscribe.

If I'm not listening to music on the radio, I want hard news, not personalities. But I do hope they give her the TV job.
