New Orleans WTIX transmitter

Are they even on the air? I used to pick them up regularly in the Mobile area and have not heard a thing for months. I know during Ida they had to file an STA on a temporary transmitter while they got their main one going again.

Given the nature of their signal and location, I know It's still caused reception issues in the New Orleans Metro, but it often comes in loud and clear all the way in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
 
Found their FCC filings. Apparently they're on a temporary transmitter and (finally) replacing their original transmitter that took on damage way back during Katrina. The current signal is 20KW and is barely powerful enough to reach Galliano (COL), let alone the New Orleans Metro.

The replacement transmitter is slightly different from their existing since the directional null is less than the other one, and there is a slight overlap (over water) of neighboring WJZD 94.5 in Gulfport.

The tower and transmitter were destroyed by Katrina. They rebuilt the tower and had been using an older BE transmitter that was damaged in Ida. They are now getting a new antenna system with the minor adjustment to the directional signal.
 
Yep Tix is booming in to livingston. Need to drive east to see if 1045 is coming in.
