Chick-Fil-A serving up a streaming service

Successful companies usually do well to stay focused on their products. I wonder, will this new venture have a religious spin?

Despite its conservative corporate image, Chick-fil-A has some of the quirkiest advertising. Not what you’d expect out of such a company.

Meanwhile they are bringing back the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, which is welcome news!😋

It might be cheaper to have your own streaming network on a cost per bases than having to buy advertising. I am sure they won't abandon their successful current campaigns but if they could sell a few ads it might not cost as much as we think. Virtual scenery, effects etc.

This is the future of media. Branded streaming. The brands have the budget for this kind of thing. Kind of the new version of Disney.

That's what the 5 Hour Energy drink guy thought when he bought NewsNet and that didn't work out too well.

In theory it's a good idea but they will spend a bunch of money promoting their platform and likely in the end the majority of people using it will be their "P1" customers anyways.

Newsnet was terrible. Let's see how Chick-Fil-A Radio sounds before making predictions.

Reinforcing the brand image and encouraging return visits is certainly reason enough for this.

It's not a radio service. It's streaming TV. They're not crazy enough to launch a radio station.
My error. I thought this was an audio stream.

I wonder if they've considered installing televisions in their restaurants to stream the content.
That would be interesting. In general, fast food places want users to finish and leave so there are always tables available. Running 30 minute to 1 hour shows might slow the table turns and back up business. Good question, though!

Chick-fil-A can, of course, install televisions to run trailers of the streaming service's TV shows.

The Sonic drive-in restaurant chain has their own in-house "radio station" with DJs.

Pathmark supermarkets called their in-store easy listening music "Pathmark Radio". When I was a kid I called up a store and asked them if it was a real radio station. They said no, it was played from tapes they got every month. I remember hearing the speed wobble and audio dropouts every time one of the announcement tapes started playing -- since the tapes were played over and over again for an entire month, they tended to get quite badly worn-out.

I remember as a kid when stores used Muzak off records. One time the record got stuck and was left like that since a store clear mentioned they didn't have the keys to the cabinet.

Hobby Lobby used to have music from their own CDs that they also sold in the stores. Now they have their own channel from Mood (Muzak). Kirkland's, where I worked in the IT department at one time, has their own channel as well.

McDonald's, Taco Bell, and likely others as well will show CNN, Fox News (No comment there yet) or The Weather Channel. It seems like the Weather feed from Local Now would be a good choice with the loop of the forecast and short news clips.

On the subject of Chick-Fil-A possibly streaming from their channel, I mainly have one comment: PLEASE no Fox News, Newsmax, or any similar far right news channel!

So does W*M - and you can actually listen to it: WMW Radio

A not-so-unique twist on marketing the company these days. I suspect CfA will be in a similar light, more CCM tunes in the mix, probably.
