Boston 25 - 9/9/2024

I noticed last night in the 6pm hour, they now have "weather on the 10's".

Their new schedule begins that day. For local newscasts, it will be:

5:00 AM-Noon: Boston 25 Morning News
Noon-1:00 PM: Boston 25 News at Noon
4:00 PM: Boston 25 News at 4PM
5:00 PM: Boston 25 News at 5PM
6:00 PM-7:00 PM: Boston 25 News at 6PM
10:00 PM: Boston 25 News at 10PM
11:00 PM-11:35 PM: Boston 25 News at 11PM

Gets Better - From 12:35am to 5:00am they are replaying News at 10 and News at 11 over and over in 3 blocks! WTF? Droiping informericals for news replays - can they make more money that way?

Wow talk about a boat load of news. In comparison with WHDH, who will have the most of news on terms of hours per week?
Will there be a return of Saturday evening news at 10 and 11?

Could there be a future network change? Fox 7 and 25 being independent?

Very intriguing.

Thank you.

They wouldn't be doing this if the infomercials would generate more revenue than recycled news. And remember, the newscasts in those new blocks will be reaching viewers who either have no idea that they're prerecorded or don't care that they are, having missed the newscasts when they ran live. The advertisers who support the live news will probably stay on board for the reruns.

Will Boston 25 be keeping The Sherry Shepard show
Looking at the line up on the passport website, that answer about Sherri Shepherd is no.

At 1pm with a replay at 1 am is a new show called Investigate TV +.

At 2 pm Judge Mathis.

At 230 pm Equal My Justice.

At 3 pm will be an hour of TMZ.

That's too much news. Take the 9-noon morning news block and put news back on Saturdays at 10pm

Consider how major local TV stations has to survive today. If a local TV station is too dependent on Syndicated programming then they run into having a high median age demo and run the risk of being killed off. We are dealing with syndicated shows that can mainly be seen on Youtube, Tubi, Pluto, Freevee while the prime time shows goes to the flagship apps like Disney+, Hulu, Peacock, Paramount+, Amazon Prime and Vix (TV App owned by Univision).

So starting 9/9, only WCVB will have local news from 4:30-5 AM on weekdays.

3 years ago, all 5 Boston news stations were airing local news at that time and I posted on this forum that it seemed ridiculous and unnecessary. Guess I was right.

I wonder who will be the lead female news anchor in the mornings for boston 25

It's already determined for part of the block. Its WINK's Nicole Gabe who has already started behind the scenes (or is already on the air by now).
