WCCM To Get Transferred To Costa Media Boston

The buyer has operated WCCM via LMA since August of 2021, first as bilingual CHR "LatinX" before dropping all English titles in January of this year, rebranding as "Exitos" and shifting to a full-fledged Spanish CHR format.

The WCCM calls go back to when it was on
800, 800 in Roman numerals
WUBG 1570 Methuen (with FM translator in Medford on 105.3) used to be licensed to
Beverly (WMLO, WNSH)

$1.25 million for an 1kw AM/translator in Haverhill?

Something’s off here, no?
The past monthly lease payments are being credited to the purchase price. The cash due is significantly less., as the lease went into effect in August, 2021.

Plenty of Hispanic listeners within range of that translator, but Haverhill, Methuen and Lawrence are, shall we say, downmarket. Will advertisers find the fish in those waters worth angling for?
I bet you iHeart wishes they could find a translator in that area to rebroadcast Rumba on a HD and make the signal more feasible.

Thank you; I sit corrected. True.
Wikipedia says "originally used on WCCM (800 AM), now WNNW; attempt at a Roman numeral for 800 (subtract CC (200) from M (1000) to get 800)"
An attempt...that was wrong.

CCM could also mean Contemp Christian Music or a hockey stick maker (orig name Canada Cycle and Motor)

I don’t think Costa is acquiring wccm. I think they are divesting/selling wccm to the person who has been LMA-ing it.

It’s getting transferred FROM Costa
There are two "Costa" companies. Costa-Eagle is the owner that's selling it. Costa Media Boston is the company that's been LMA'ing it and is now buying it.

Costa-Eagle Radio Ventures transferes 1490 WCCM/103.7 W279DH Haverhill MA to Jose Villafane’s Costa Media Boston for $1.25 million.

We don't know the ownership of the companies themselves, do we? (i.e...how much anyone owns of the company.)

AT one time the "Eagle" was due to the Eagle-Tribune part ownership. Since the Eagle Tribune was sold, were they still part of the "Costa-Eagle Ventures group"?

Maybe this is a way of starting to disentangle from the "Eagle" part of the equation, while maintaining an interest.
