Today, WBTS ("NBC 10 Boston") had 2 male anchors (Raul Martinez and Jeff Saperstone) during their morning news broadcasts. This is only the 2nd time I've ever seen this happen in a local news broadcast. The other time was in July 2019 when I saw Randy Price and Doug Meehan co-anchor WCVB's EyeOpener.
Every other time I've watched local news, it's been either a single anchor, a male-female anchor duo, or 2 female anchors. Which leads me to ask - is it taboo to have 2 male anchors on a newscast? Is there a "rule" that one of the news anchors must be female?
