Dallas Stars games for the 2024-25 season move from Bally Sports Southwest to a free DTC streaming service

I think the Stars should be on OTA as they need to be on over the air rather than just streaming in my opinion I think it will be a flop and epic fail in my opinion.

You have to live in Texas or New Mexico to be able to watch the games live, but the on-demand replays are free to all. At least during the pre-season. And each game is only up for 48 hours :(. That aside, the first home broadcast looked great. A bit of stream lag during the first period, but it did not last. The on-screen graphics are a hockey geek's dream: Shots on goal, player matchups, and on the bottom, a running total of each player's time on the ice. The first away game was fascinating. The play-by-play duo and the Stars owner watching the game from the Dallas studio (The PGA was thanked. They have a TV studio in DFW?). They call it "Texas Hockey Huddle". No travel with the team bucks in the budget yet? Looking forward to the first live Ducks broadcast next week, and now The St. Louis Blues are on the upcoming live sports menu?

I watched the second period of that game. Victory+ obviously decided not to spend money on sending a crew to a preseason road game, and used the Ball Arena videoboard feed. Regular season road games should have a crew on site.

Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana are the Stars territory for live games on Victory+.

Watched some of that as well. Very similar to the previous coverage on BSSW, with some graphics changes.

The Texas Hockey Huddle as they called the road game broadcasts were actually quite entertaining. That will change in the regular season. The production quality is identical to BSSW. The Stars are to be commended for trying this. I hope it works out where they keep it free.
