I wanted to alert this group of a podcast I've done for over ten years focused on radio - and specifically LA radio.

I've done the show with radio columnist Richard Wagoner, which I know will "trigger" some, but the shows being spotlighted I see as part of an "oral history" of the regions radio history.

The show is coming to a close for a number of reasons and in the last few months we're playing back the shows "greatest hits" of our "career spanning" interviews. Some of the final shows have already been posted and are available "on demand".

Our last show, which will drop on December 4th will be the long promised, never before heard interview with 93 KHJ programmer - Ron Jacobs. You'll hear the multi-hour interview we did with this very unique individual. You'll hear it unedited and unfiltered with all the quirks and stories that this misunderstood genius gave us back when it was recorded in 2015, shortly before his passing. We think it will be a fitting way to say goodbye.

Wait until you hear it. It was a mess. I do think for us radio "geeks" there is an interest.

Yeah, that's Ron.

What he left out (maybe Steele never told him) was that Don had used the line, with a different female voice, when he was at KISN in Portland in 1963-64. Scroll down to the second audio player on the page and it has both the KISN voice and the KHJ voice:

The KHJ voice was better---much more in sync with a young 1965 sound.

My favorites were actually Robert W. Morgan playing off of it. He'd never use the recorded drop, he'd just work it into a record's intro:

Y'know, hearing that, Ron was born 40 years too early. This guy should be doing the most off-the-chain podcast known to man.

Thanks so much for these, Mark. I'm especially delighted seeing Dr. Demento in this group, and even more so at there being two hours of him. A film production crew was doing a feature length documentary on his life and career years ago that many were looking forward to. But sadly, it never came to fruition. This is almost like having a second chance at experiencing that.
