ESPN 880/1050 conflict schedules

Because of changing times, going forward in the event of conflicts on ESPN New York (880/1050) I will post the schedules during nights where a conflict occurs.

Starting with tonight.

This is due to Knicks & Rangers are on either 880 or 1050AM are now being carrying on WMTR which is a oldies station, and the home of “Doo-Wop Drive” with Allan David Stein, part of a “Doo-Wop Double Feature” with Bob Trivero and the “Doo-Wop Dream Machine” on WRCR.

Note to self... make sure to check out WMTR.

Also, surprised nobody mentioned they have a Beatles show on Sundays.

This is basically how they handled 98.7 and 1050 before the move. The only difference is they're contractually obligated now to carry the Mets game to conclusion. The other two games are via ESPN.

I would expect the Rangers would have had priority if this was regular season.

The NHL regular season has started.

Moderator note: when posting screen captures or pics, please size them appropriately. Make them readable, but not like a giant billboard. I resized your picture and it looks just fine at 25% of the size.

People will hear John Sterling on WFAN, and the ESPN national broadcast on 880. People have a choice.
Why don’t the same blackout rules apply for radio like they do TV. I guarantee most people in NY would rather listen to the home broadcast than the national feed. Just look at the complaining over the TBS broadcast.

It's less about providing listeners with an alternative than it is about getting the national spots cleared. Plain and simple.

What is the "appropriate" size? Can you say what dimensions they should be? Like 8" x 4" ? I post some occasionally but never sure if I am getting the size right. I mean, I don't want them to look like the early TV broadcasts of All In The Family when they did so many close up face shots you could count the nose hairs in Archie's honker.

And speaking of WMTR, I just checked that WGHQ in Kingston has flipped from soft oldies which was “Magic 92.5” to a conservative talk format called “The Beacon” where they are going to compete with Poughkeepsie’s talk rival WKIP at 1450AM.

“The Beacon” can be heard on 96.5, 94.3 and 92.5 on the FM, and 920, 1260 and 1420 on the AM, and not only that, they’re adding Knicks and Rangers to the station along with Army Football, same goes with WBPM.

I just checked WBPM that they’re carrying Knicks and Rangers games from ESPN Radio, just like what is on WMTR right now.

Did Pamal signed a deal with Good Karma Brands to carry Knicks and Rangers games like what Beasley did with WMTR under GKB?

1. Those stations had already been carrying Army. Futhermore, WGHQ originates the Black Knights' broadcasts for Learfield.

2. MSG controls the broadcast rights for the Knicks and the Rangers, not Good Karma. MSG essentially buys their airtime, and I'm sure that's what they are doing here.
