SIMILAR TO RADIO-LOCATOR?

Given that the site only exists because it was originally a side project of WMBR, the student-run station at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, I think we're fortunate that even it still exists.

Trying to replicate that for stations south of our border is apparently a task no one wants to take on.

Does Mexico or Central America have anything similar to Radio-Locator that would allow you to see coverage maps?
Not really.

Because of Mexico's election laws (which require stations provide free political advertising during campaign season), the country's National Electoral Institute does have coverage maps for every AM, FM and TV station as of 2017 here:

You can also sign up for FMScan, which has FM coverage maps worldwide, but transmitter data in most other countries can be questionable at best, and as they say, "garbage in, garbage out," so those maps are best used with more than a grain or two of salt.

FCCData.org has information and maps for many FM stations in Mexico.
Go to FCCdata.org and click on the Mexico tab. The database has coverage maps for FM and AM. We use the data and maps provided by the IFT. It was recently updated.

Of course, there is a major issue about things like AM stations that should but don't drop power at night and FMs with higher ERP, higher antennas, etc.
