October PPM's

WIP leapt 1.8 to 9.8. When's the last time any station was that high? I kinda thought double-digit ratings in the 6+ numbers were a thing of the past. Q102 has pulled away from WTDY (2.7 vs 2.1). I know they're not competing against one another anymore. I just got a kick out TDY still besting Q102 even after moving out of their lane. Even with the substantial f***ery of this election season, WPHT can muster a mere 2.3, further down the drain than they were two and three months ago. Aside from more statistical noise, nothing else really jumped out at me.

Congrats to Mike Kaplan on his station's 20th place finish.

Seriously, couldn't 104.5 achieve roughly the same result with zero local staff? What's the point of keeping a single station PD on payroll if the best he can do is a 20th place performance overall & probably just a modestly stronger performance in key demos?

At first, I thought you meant from a 1.8 share to a 9.8 share! I now realize you mean from an 8.0 share to a 9.8 share. ;)

Let's see: Mornings are syndicated, two shifts originate at DC101, and only one shift is local. So he's almost there.

I see a nice half point increase at WXPN.

What's their phone number? I have a format to sell them which performs in the saleable demos with no station staff other than sales and traffic ...

And although you can’t technically count it towards their total rating their stream adds another 2.5 to that already large rating.

I noticed a while back on Mediabase that Kaplan is also listed as the PD/MD of Q102. I don't know if that's accurate but it very well could be (he does have CHR experience under his belt.)

As always, how much sway does a local PD (or Brand Manager) have directing things?
