Birmingham WAMI 880 Opp moving again?

How did he move a commercial station out of Jacksons Gap without replacing it with another commercial station? Do the FCC still have that rule?

Not entirely sure, but I don't believe the station ever moved to Jackson's Gap. It was just a CP.

then what happens to WKLF? Im guessing its moving.

But are we peons qualified to discuss this?
There is the CP for the new FM in Maplesville (at 106.3 FM formerly used by WZNN). Maybe 880 and 106.3 will be paired together?

I did ask about Maplesville but for now, building the station is the goal. Calls and Format TBD. WKLF isn't moving. They intend to stay put.

P.S. To @SomeRadioGuy or anyone reading when I need to know what Mr. Chris is up to, I go straight to the man himself.

last time he came on this board, he called us all out for being unprofessional and discussing this kinda stuff about his stations

WKLF is already simulcast over W238CS at 95.5 in Clanton.

i guess my point is.. why does one need or want another station in clanton?

ALL ABOARD! The WAMI train is making its next stop. First it was scheduled for Maplesville. Then Jackson's Gap. Now possibly to Clanton...proposed to broadcast with 1 kw days, 7 watts night.

Don't forget that back in 2012 the then-owners filed to move it to (*checks notes*) Kanab, Utah. That was another failed bid, lol.

This station gets around more than a cheerleader at homecoming.

Reynolds Technical/Great South RFDC/whoever else they went by filed that move.. Reynolds also filed to move WABV 1590 abbeville, SC from 1kw non directional to a 7 tower daytimer in Whitney NV on 1370

I'd sure like to be a fly on the wall sometime in the offices of Reynolds Brothers, sons, and nephews. The morning coffee gets poured, and the senior Reynolds probably walks up to a giant white wipe away board shaped like Alabama and says "Mornin' guys, here's our next big move...I was up all night , and I got it all figured out. We're gonna make a million bucks on this one, I can feel it!" 🤠

I've known Paul Reynolds since 1990. We've worked together on several projects. I admit, I haven't been keeping up with what he's doing and haven't spoken with him in five or six years but, he usually makes very good sense.
