So long Freevee…

In other words, "look, we added a metric crap-ton of ads to Prime Video, and our subscription rates didn't budge, so why keep this? Now we're going to play the same amount of ads on Prime, and also charge you for your subscription. Win-win. p.s. the price for your subscription is gonna go up. Again. Jeff needs another vacation home in Montana."

It's funny. People were asked after they voted about the economy, and they all said they have less money now than they did four years ago. Of course they do, because they're paying for all these individual streaming services, and they haven't yet realized they're paying more than they once did for cable.

I hear this in the music business too. They're all telling me how subscriptions are up for pay Spotify and pay Apple Music. Meanwhile free radio is cutting staff because revenue is down.

For me, I haven't subscribed to anything. I wouldn't even subscribe to FreeVee because I had to sign up for it. Screw em.

Alternately, "I don't understand why I can't make ends meet. Things are so expensive now!"

Me: Um, you just paid 20 bucks for a fast food "value meal" to be delivered to the office by Door Dash.
