Chris Wallace Leaves CNN

How many TV news veterans are no longer at major news organizations? Brian Williams, Shepard Smith, and now Chris Wallace:

You could staff a pretty good news operation with just those three. Pretty expensive too. So what do you do after you've been to the top of the mountain?

Did anybody watch this election night coverage with Brian Williams on Amazon? No? Why am I not surprised?

I understand why all these old vets are waiting for the big payday from Amazon and Apple. But nobody cares.

Think of all the post-prime news anchors who have done documentaries and other self-produced things, and have made absolutely no impact on anyone.

All three are tainted. Two for working for Fox News and the other for things he has said. Plus I don't think audiences would seek out Shepard Smith or Chris Wallace but perhaps some for Brian Williams which is why Amazon did a trail run on election night with him.

They should retire from the daily grind and work on pet projects for fun.

Why would 60 Minutes want to hire in another correspondent in his 70s? They already have Leslie Stahl in her 80s, Bill Whittaker and Jon LaPooke in their 70s, plus Scott Pelley is past the "traditional" retirement age.
And what is the demo of 60 Minutes, they are not going after the 20 something’s. Andersen Copper is probably their youngest correspondent.
