The Public Square radio show/Podcast on WHK

12/25/2024 at 9:00 and 10:00am WHK is airing the two-part "Christmas In America, 1973" show from "The Public Square", a weekly and daily radio broadcast of the American Policy Roundtable hosted by Dave Zanotti and Wayne Shepherd. They say they are now heard on nearly 200 facilities. On their website, they have 2 minute, 30 minute, and 60 minute episodes available. The 2 minute show, offered daily, has a Christmas 2024 episode up. On this "Christmas In America, 1973" show, it sounds like they were doing the show in a large hall with a large audience. They had a band/orchestra there playing songs from 1973 while they talk about what went on that year. The band/orchestra is doing a good job of sounding like the original artists. Scrolling down there's a link that says all 14 editions of "Christmas In America" are available. They include "Christmas In America, 1928", "Christmas In America, 1844", "Christmas In America: The War Years", "Christmas In America: The Civil War", and other ones covering various years. Under "About", they say: "The Public Square® is the non-profit, non-partisan education outreach of the American Policy Roundtable, established in 1980. This is a 100% listener supported broadcast". Looks like the radio offers began in 1989. They also talk about issues. In the 10:00 am hour, the show took a U-Turn to talk about Herod who was involved in the killing of Jesus and John The Baptist. The tie-in of Herod to 1973 was that America was, morally, going downhill. They mentioned the Roe vs Wade decision, legalizing abortion and Watergate. They talked, at length, about how Watergate personage Chuck Colson would, later, pray to God for the first time and have a Spiritual Awakening.

I never heard of this radio show, Podcasts and programs.

John: Nice that you are a fan of WHK and keep reporting on their activities, but -- frankly -- I don't think that anyone on this site listens to the station or cares what they do.

I listen to WHK quite a bit and I care what they do. I appreciate that they have live and local programming in the morning with Bob Frantz. There is not much live and local programming on the radio anymore.

it somehow is appearing in the 12+ ratings, while others don't. Someone (with a meter) is apparently within earshot.
