NBA Ratings on Christmas Day

Yes its a battle for viewers with NFL games and NBA games on Christmas Day.

Besides the NFL games being on Netflix rather than non-subscription cable channels, the NBA games were much more competitive. I wouldn't be surprised if many viewers started out watching football, then switched to basketball at halftime and never returned. (Make that "right after halftime" for the Beyonce fans.)

Jeers to the NFL for playing on Christmas Day (especially since it was a Wednesday). Football is not meant to be played on 3 days rest. It begins to allow conspiracy folks to say these games are as legitimate as wrestling. Thursday games are bad enough, but this was a joke. Why not just give Beyonce a 2 hour special?
Bah humbug...

Why would anyone suspect a pair of dreary blowouts of being faked?
Who knows? After every game a certain amount of people rail against the bad officiating and gambling angle. The product wasn't very good. Again, football isn't meant to be played on 3 days rest. It stands to reason that some players might give a half hearted effort when tackling...

You realize these guys are professionals who make millions a year and have performance bonuses?

These aren't part timers who work regular jobs during the week.

Are you talking about the officials or players? I don't know if you've ever played football or talked to a pro. Your body doesn't recover in 3 days. Sure, the NFL doesn't care. The vast majority of players hate the Thursday games on short rest. They'll cash the checks, but the integrity of the game is diminished.

Maybe one day, they'll have NFL teams playing a Double Header...😑

The teams that played on Christmas Day played the previous Saturday, so they had the same rest as those playing a typical Thursday night game have. The worst thing is that they've gotten to a point where teams can be forced to do that more than once a year. The NFLPA should be pushing back on that.
