Swiss public broadcaster ceases FM broadcasts

SBC has transitioned all broadcasts to DAB+, effective at the start of 2025. Private broadcasters continue on FM until the end of 2026.

That's a good article. It's interesting they're referring to "ultra-shortwave" transmitters when they say "FM" before and after that. Was the translation done by AI?

Probably. VHF in German is UKW, Ultrakurzwelle, which Google Translate renders as "ultra-shortwave". Also this:

Interesting factoids on the different growth rates -- 10% listen to radio via FM, 39% online radio and 41% DAB (with both of those up considerably since 2015). That leaves 10% who don't listen to radio at all in Switzerland.

Just a few years ago Switzerland also ended digital terrestrial TV. It is now received by satellite, cable and streaming.
