Flagstaff New kfmr 97.3?

I'm in Pine and just found this station. Comes in pretty good up here. And damn it's good. My kind of music, 60's-90's rock, a lot of rare stuff-and no commercials. Can't seem to find much information on it but reading through some previous threads on this site it sounds like the owner is Ted Tucker who also owns KCDX which I like but can't get it on the radio easy up here. Used to get it on line but that's gone. Any thing anybody knows I'd like to hear. I've been a radio guy most of my life and it's cool to be able to get these kind of stations out here in the woods.

A quick perusal of the FCC database shows that it's owner is COCHISE MEDIA LICENSES LLC, but that link that @KilowattKat provides shows it's a VT presentation?

Enjoy it while it's there, I suppose.

KFMR is a Ted Tucker Station, airing almost identical programming as KCDX from the same transmitter site. @KilowattKat posted a link to KBSZ, an AM classic rock station with a translator at 97.3. The KFMR signal probably is able to reach Pine while K247CF doesn't, despite having nearby Payson as a city of license.

Considering the Rattler 97.3 translator is in East Mesa, your friend is hearing that signal. KFMR 97.3 is playing the same log as KCDX. This was verified 1/7/25.

The radio-locator.com info for KFMR is wrong. Someone heard K247CF the Rattler on 97.3 thinking it was KFMR and used the submit a correction link. Here in central Phoenix while driving around both signals are fighting each other. Using a second radio I tuned to 103.1 KCDX and the music matches KFMR.

KFMR now IDs as part of the KCDX ID.
Yup - heard that on a trip to Sky Harbor yesterday while listening to KCDX along I-10.

First time in 40+ years that I've even heard of "Central Heights-Midland City"

Too bad the KCDX web page is broken - two years & counting?

Maybe the bright spot for Ted Tucker is that he hasn't had to pay any music streaming licensing fees for a while.

A hundred songs shuffle out, a hundred songs shuffle in. With an estimated 2000+ in the 'puter, there's the possibility that some just haven't been hitting as they once did (oh, a decade ago...).

I'll simply keep enjoying it when I'm in range.

It seems like Ted Tucker dropped some of his KMFR playlists on KCDX and I am super excited! As a KCDX fangirl for more than 20 years, I know TT's KCDX playlists like the back of my hands. To hear some songs that I haven't heard on 103.1 before is a real treat.

Anyone else noticed that the song variety has changed since KCDX has changed their on air station ID to include KFMR or is it just me
Yes, it was pretty much 60s & 70s (lots of alternate albums cuts from great albums) with occasional songs from the early 80s. Now it's lots of 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Anyone notice that?

Yes I've noticed some new old songs on 97.3 and they are good ones. Fine with me. Hope ol' Ted keeps this thing going for awhile, 23 years and counting. I have to admit I'm spoiled, if I'm out of range and have to go with a station with commercials it seems like there's more commercials than music.

Speaking of anybody noticing something there has been a strange thing going on with 97.3. A lot of songs are coming in garbled pretty bad. Not the whole broadcast, just what seems like every seventh or eighth or so song. It's not my reception because it will be just one that is unintelligable and the next 7 or 8 or whatever are just fine. Is this going on with 103.1?

Yes, I've noticed the same issue with the garbled sound. Have to change station frequently as it is really annoying
