Late 80s WKBQ St. Louis Imaging

That jingle package is listed as being originated by WAVA ("Power 105") in Washington, DC. Both WAVA & WKBQ were owned by Doubleday Broadcasting until the late 1980s, so I'd wager a corporate VP at Doubleday was involved.

This is probably a shot in the dark, but does anyone have any insight into who did the imaging for Q106.5 in the late 80s? Would love to know who put that package together, and whether or not any of the original recordings are available anywhere.
Sorry, I don't know, though I recall it well.

Doubleday sold then-KWK-FM in 1983 or early 1984 to Robinson Broadcasting (legal notice was in the Post-Dispatch in December 1983). Chase Broadcasting bought KWK-FM (and KGLD(AM), originally KWK) in December 1986, and owned it until 1990.

Where did you find this information?

I should also add that the Lyndon Abell, the PD, may have been from the DC area. That's where he is now, in fact. This lends credence to the WAVA connection.

Also, the suggested next cuts on SoundCloud included this Retaliate demo reel, which uses WAVA's package:

Wikipedia strikes again. Wiki page for WARH states:

> In November 1986, the two stations were bought by Chase Broadcasting.

What's 3 years among historians?

Fantastic. I've been trying to figure this out for years. Thanks!
