KLIF Adds "Fox Across America"

But their schedule shows the three-hour show only getting cleared for two hours while Hannity has a whopping FOUR hours!

With so many of these nationally syndicated shows available via podcast, I wonder how many more years a station running mostly syndicated fare keeps going. KLIF is averaging a 0.2 each month. The demos wanting to listen it on AM radio is quite old and dying off. Any younger demo interested in the shows will almost certainly consume it via podcast and not on an AM radio.

That's who they program to. They didn't add this show to attract younger demos. They added this show for the audience who already listens.

If they want it as a podcast, it exists. It's on iHeart:

In fact, just about every talk show you can think of is available as a podcast. Not just younger people use podcasts. So making talk shows available as podcasts isn't to attract younger demos. It's for the people who already listen.

The only podcast I’ll listen to is the “Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me” podcast, but of course that’s a podcast of the radio show on NPR. I also haven’t downloaded TikTok, so I guess you can consider me old now. Lmao

True @Holstead his motto on the show is "You can be a Republican, you can be a Democrat, just don't be a d--k"

KLIF, owned by Cumulus, added "Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla" in part because Cumulus subsidiary Westwood One just ended three one-hour weekday shows heard on many Cumulus talk stations. Ben Shapiro had announced last fall that he was ending his Westwood One show. So KLIF decided to change its own line up with the new year.

A couple of years ago, Shapiro stopped doing his weekday three-hour radio show, simply giving Westwood One his one-hour podcast to run as a syndicated program. So Westwood One added two more one-hour shows to fill the time gap, one from Matt Walsh and one from Michael Knowles. With Shapiro leaving at the end of the 2024, those shows were ended as well.

Interesting note: Westwood One now has no PM drive syndicated show to offer to talk stations. So many of them are picking up syndicated offerings from other companies. That includes Fox, which syndicated Failla.
