Remember there are 13 "monthly" ratings reports, since "Holiday" comes after "December." So maybe due to the holidays, there's a lag for the "Holiday" ratings.
This ratings report will show us the answer to an interesting question. Is the All-Christmas format just as strong as ever? The Christmas format wasn't as much of a ratings factor in December 2024 as in past Decembers. But that may be due to how many days before the switch to All-Christmas music that the December ratings period began.
The difference between 2023 and 2024 was not the days before the switch, but rather that Thanksgiving was a week later this year. Stations usually do not see a massive jump in their Christmas music numbers until Thanksgiving.
The last major market monthlies came out December 23, so it has been five weeks. Presumably this keeps the release calendar lined up, a sort of “leap week” for the ratings.
