Cleveland Radio Hol 24 Ratings

The ratings seem to be bigger than ever for both Majic and Star. Both have gotten a major boost from the all-Christmas music. Not so much The Fish. (Speaking of, it will be interesting to see how the ratings will be for this month when it comes out.)

Q104 got a bump while KISS went down. 107.3 is also up as well.

I know iHeart doesn't care about ratings, but you have to wonder how much longer until they pull the plug on Kiss.

Kiss costs them literally nothing to run and gets PPM market clearance for Elvis Duran, On Air with Ryan Seacrest and American Top 40. That alone may be worth keeping it.

Kiss Cincinnati is in a nearly identical place ratings wise, as are many CHR stations around the country.

Does anyone remember how well Kiss did when it first migrated to 96.5 in the early 2000s? I have a vague memory of it being exceptionally successful in those first years.

Young people who the station was/is aimed at generally don't listen to the radio anymore.

WFHM is usually in the low to mid-2s. K-Love won't do any better. It is a fringe format.
I would not call K-Love a fringe format. With no commercials and well researched and programmed music, it’s certainly capable of reaching somewhere between 10th and 12th in the market, well ahead of a big bunch of other stations.

WFHM is currently #14 in the total Cleveland rankings. I don't see K-Love getting any higher. Religious formats have limited appeal and are certainly fringe formats. Nothing wrong with that, by the way.

Kiss is one of their signature brands. They use Kiss stations to promote their IHeart Music Awards.

It serves a purpose, thus it goes nowhere.

K-Love plays basically the same stuff as The Fish, so music wise, it's a wash.

The difference is losing the local flavor, so if there's any major change in their ratings going forward under the K-Love banner, that would be the driving force.

Amazing how many people complain about too much holiday music/too soon and then 105.7 crushes it...people must want holiday tunes more than they care to admit (not judging)...just find it odd

Well, I suppose compared to the endless barrage of Jack and Diane, Eye of the Tiger, Bohemian Rhapsody, Piano Man, etc., Christmas music is a nice diversion for a few weeks.
I find 105 unlistenable....(Obviously I'm in a minority)...I just don't get it...the songs you mentioned are prime examples...add in "We are the champions"...How many times do you want to hear the same songs over and over????

Those songs must be what gets Majic the big ratings every month. Them, WZAK and WNCX are usually the top performers in the market.
