AUDIO: 104.7 The Fish Becomes WAIA "Air 1"

Night Ranger's "Goodbye" is an odd choice for a contemporary Christian outlet.

I recorded the last hour of sister KLTY D/FW's -- it's here: Radio This Week Back Then #52: January 26-February 1. No Night Ranger, but the whole "change is hard" sign off segment is basically the same between KLTY and WFSH-FM. KLTY went to K-Love, but it both cases it looks like the first song was Elevation Worship/"Praise" before actually joining the Air 1 and K-Love feeds.

Weird that EMF updated all the former Salem stations on their website over the weekend and only 104.7 does not have a signal map on their website of the 7 they bought. Especially since 104.7 and 106.7 are on the same tower now 104.7 is only a C1 while 106.7 is class C so 104.7 has smaller coverage. Radio Insight is reporting that Christian FM will be taking over the Today's Christian Music and the Word in Worship and keeping some of the TCM talent and will run it separate from Christian FM. And in Recent years the national satellite feed of TCM the jocks mirrored 104.7 the Fish talent line up so will Kevin and Taylor continue to do mornings there but Kevin on social media said he and his wife had a coffee date this morning so unless they voice track is the show actually over or just for Atlanta.

According to the article you referenced, Kevin and Taylor are out, as is their producer and overnight host Griff. Beth Bacall and Kim Fitz remain on the network. No word on Keep the Faith with Penny, which was part of the network.

i just read on hisair.net that mentions the new tcm line up its chrstian fms kevin and amy mornings kim fitz middays beth becall afternoons scott and sam evenings and heather erbe overnights

I've had a while to digest the end of 104.7 The Fish, and I gotta say, I don't like it one bit.

I'm not even a fan of CCM, but The Fish had its place as a good, family-friendly station that did TONS of outreach and really marketed itself well. The air personalities were top-notch and most had been there a long time. Kevin & Taylor lasted nearly 25 years! How rare is that!?!

I hate to see another pre-fab format off a satellite being pumped in on a good signal like 104.7.

Would love to know the back story on that one. Of course, that was the last song on WAVA/Washington before it went to Salem ownership in 1992.

I am guessing each Salem Fish was allowed to end as they desired. Not sure about the others but 104.7 stayed "live" until midnight!

The folks who own Christian FM syndication did take over on 2/1. In recent years the TCM talent was mostly Atlanta Fish on air talent but as I stated elsewhere - TCM was 100% voice tracked - Salem would run right after the 00:00 network rejoin "This program is pre-recorded" every few hours on TCM. In fact, on Friday if you listened to TCM none of the "Fish" talent mentioned "goodbye" on Today's Christian Music and on Saturday/Sunday TCM was still running "Kevin and Taylor" voice-tracks.

The new lineup on TCM started on Monday morning with Christian FM's syndicated "Kevin and Amy" in mornings. Kim Fitz tracking mid days, Beth Bacall tracking afternoons and Scott and Sam "in the morning" replacing Penny/Keep the Faith at night.

Kevin and Taylor plus Griff were let go as part of the Atlanta Air Staff and not kept as trackers for TCM by Christian FM.

Penny/Keep the Faith is moving on outside of TCM as its own "Syndicated Show" for stations to pick up as Christian FM did not pick her show up with the deal for TCM/TWM.

Christian FM also picked up the Salem Music Network PD Jayme Summers, to handle the two networks which will run independent of Christian FM's other syndicated products.
