Young and the Restless at 11:30 AM

I know there are at least five CBS stations outside the Eastern time zone that air Young and the Restless at 11:30 AM instead of 11 AM.
The ones I know of are:
KCBS/2 Los Angeles
WBBM/2 Chicago
WTVF/5 Nashville
KOLR/10 Springfield, MO
KTVT/11 Dallas/Fort Worth

Are there any others?

I believe that’s about it. There’s a few other stations that air Y&R out of order or out of an ideal times KRQE, KFMB, KUTV, KGMB, KBOI etc while KIRO, KOTV, and KUTV air B&B out of order as well.

The days of CBS stations airing soaps out of order are long over, even in the Mountain time zone.

And though not part of my original question but something I wanted to get in, WLKY runs Y&R at 4 rather than 12:30. For years it was on against Oprah on WHAS and won not only the 4-5 timeslot but the 5-5:30 news time. Even after Oprah gave up her show and WHAS installed a 4 PM newscast, Y&R stayed put. Louisville is the only market in the Eastern time zone where Y&R runs out of pattern. CBS does not offer the soap at noon (ET) to the Eastern time zone.

Is WLKY the last CBS station that runs Y&R at 4? There was a good number of stations that ran that show at 4 during the height of Oprah, as well as a good number at 3 in the Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones as well.

I see WKYT doesn’t air Y&R at the “up before my coffee” hour of 9AM anymore either.

The only CBS station that I knew actually aired Y&R at Noon ET was WJMN in Marquette Michigan when it was CBS, which it hasn’t been for a few years now.

To my knowledge WLKY is the only one still running Y&R at 4. WNCN Raleigh/Durham did until about three years ago, following a practice started by WRAL when it was CBS. WGCL (now WANF) Atlanta ran it at 3 for awhile but now carries it at 12:30; KMOV St. Louis and WAFB Baton Rouge used to carry it in late afternoon but both have it at 11 AM now. WKYT airs the entire CBS daytime schedule in pattern, although it takes the 3 PM feed of Let's Make a Deal; its semi-satellite WYMT carries LMAD at 10 AM.

When BTG starts, I believe this will come to an end (Especially in the Mountain Time Zone due to the awkwardness of it). The only other option is to not air it at all (Which os not an option for the O&O's)

Don't most CBS affiliates in the Mountain time zone follow Central and Pacific time? It would seem the ideal schedule for the Mountain time zone would be:

9 AM or 2 PM Let's Make A Deal
10 AM The Price Is Right
11 or 11:30 AM The Young And The Restless (most would take it at 11 AM)
12 N (Local)
12:30 PM The Bold And The Beautiful
1 PM Beyond The Gates

That means these stations couldn't have a 12 o'clock newscast. If Y&R starts at 11:30, it runs till 12:30. So are these stations doing their midday news at 11am? Or maybe 12:30? Or do they just not air a midday newscast?

In Canada, unless you have cable, you don't see Y&R till late afternoon. I think the CBC or CTV ran it at 4pm? But now it's on Global even later, at 4:30pm. I assume that's true for all time zones, and maybe 5pm in Newfoundland.

If you want it in French, Les Foux d'Amour (The Lights of Love) airs on TVA at 3:30 pm in the East.

Channel 5 in Nashville has Talk of the Town, which includes a newscast, at 11:00 a.m. Seems like they used to have some sort of news programming at 12:30, but they haven't done that in years. Living on central time, I have become accustomed to midday news at 11:00 a.m. I don't give it a second thought anymore. The other local stations also have midday news at 11:00 a.m. No big deal to me, anymore.

Four of those stations do their midday newscast at 11 AM. The fifth, WTVF, has a talk show called "Talk of the Town" at 11 AM. All five have Y&R at 11:30 and B&B at 12:30.

You'll see it a lot on ABC affiliates, where "GMA3" airs at noon.
Ditto where NBC News Daily airs there. Heck, WNBC airs an 11 am newscast smack dab in the eastern time zone and the are not alone. It fits perfectly coming off the Today show and flowing into NBC News (albeit with NY Live sandwiched in there.)

Re "Talk of the Town": it used to be an hour show at 12:30. "B&B" was delayed to 1:30 and "ATWT" to 3, following "Guiding Light." WTVF had a straight newscast at 11 AM, followed by "Y&R" at 11:30 and then "Talk of the Town." Somebody from Nashville may be able to tell me when Newschannel 5 made the change, but their schedule from 10 AM-3 PM looks like this:

10 AM The Price Is Right
11 AM Talk of the Town
11:30 Young and the Restless
12:30 Bold and the Beautiful
1 PM Beyond the Gates (effective 2/24)
2 PM Let's Make a Deal

WVIT in Hartford runs the news at 11 am as well. Must be a O&O deal.

Big exception in the MTZ is KUTV in Salt Lake City.

9AM LMAD
10 AM Y&R
11 AM The Price is Right
12 N News
1 PM Fresh Living (Local lifestyle show)
1:30 Bold and the Beautiful
2 PM Price is Right reruns/Hollywood Squares
