65", and I ended up with a Samsung. But once I got curious, I looked at every size and couldn't find even one that (as best I could tell) included 3.0.

How to save ATSC 3.0

ATSC 3.0 is like HD Radio, basically nobody have equipment to use technology. Streaming is killing broadcast.
Are you going to get an ATSC 3.0 DVR, like Zapperbox?
I don't have any compelling case to get one. I'm less than a mile from our TV tower farm and nobody in town is doing anything on the 3.0 lighthouse beyond passing through their existing 1.0 .1 streams.
I was very interested in 3.0 until I read up on it. I see zero benefits to spending the money to upgrade to a tuner that supports 3.0. Then factor in the encryption and it was a no brainer. There are some really steller 1.0 tuners on the market and a couple of 3.0 ones for more money. Ill put the extra money into a better antenna. The broadcasters are way out of touch on the whole 3.0 thing. I dont know a whole lot of folks that even care about OTA television. Those that do happen to get it over some sort of non OTA delievery system such as cable or youtube TV.
My wife hasnt watched a TV network via cable or antenna in the entire time I have known her. She cut the cord before we met and just streams. For us getting the same OTA shows on the networks the next day via Hulu or whatever streaming service carries them is more than sufficient. I only wanted to add an ATSC tuner as I work in the public safety communications field and wanted a solution for when IP went down.

Silicondust has posted BETA firmware for their Flex4K ATSC 1/3 tuner. Reports are it's working with DRM. Anyone have one they can try since Boise has no ATSC 3.0.
I wonder if this means that the HDHomerun Connect 4K (HDHR5-4K) will also soon have working DRM decryption?
Shut off and throw away DRM requirement, waive receiver manufacturing licensing fees, keep ATSC 1.0 for at least 10 more years until cheap 3.0 capable receivers dominate. But that's not going to happen because real purpose of 3.0 is to prevent viewers from skipping commercials and make recording impossible. That's why NAB is pushing it.
