Toronto Airplane crash at Pearson Airport coverage.

So far the major news outlets in both the United States and Canada cover this crash because this flight in question was from Minneapolis to Toronto when this took place. Note this crash is currently under investigation by Canadian Authorities.

On that thread, did not Pearson have its own AM station at one time? If I recall it was not a simple TIS outlet.

After listening to multiple accounts of this accident I think the primary cause will be found to have been the crosswinds. They were estimated to be in the 35 MPH range and very gusty. One of the passengers described getting "slammed" from the wind direction very hard. Landing in winds like this it is pretty easy for the pilot to dip the windward wing too much, or the gust to lift, and the wing to strike the ground. The FDR should tell the tale.
