97.9 The Beat Expands Coverage Area

They’re now simulcasting on 94.5 KZMJ-HD2, which reaches into Oklahoma. On the flip side, Majic 94.5 is on 97.9 KBFB-HD2 and has been for years.

They’re now simulcasting on 94.5 KZMJ-HD2, which reaches into Oklahoma. On the flip side, Majic 94.5 is on 97.9 KBFB-HD2 and has been for years.

Perhaps a sign of the growing and diverse population of the northern stretches of the Metroplex.

For what it is worth, the Nielsen market definition only goes as far north as Collin, Denton, and Wise counties. The KZMJ antenna is actually in Grayson County, but I do wonder if eventually as the market continues its northerly trajectory if Grayson and Cooke will be added.

That might make the Alpha and other Sherman-Denison signals more valuable for simulcast possibilities.

In many areas of the DFW market the signals from the northern rimshots are equal to those from Cedar Hill.

The old jokes about DFW urban sprawl stopping at the Red River are no longer hyperbole.
