Louisville KFC Leaving Kentucky

"Approximately 100 Louisville-based KFC corporate employees will relocate to Texas over the next six months. Plus, another 90 remote-based workers will also move to the new combined headquarters."

The prestige of having a corporate facility in a city might be one thing, but there's reasons why they're leaving. The story linked provided several of them.

So you are assuming that this move will cause advertising by YUM on local radio there to drop and cause a loss in local radio profits?

I don’t know that I see that necessarily.

Not nationally, no. I think it will have an effect on Louisville radio. I recall iHeart having a sales rep based there to handle the Yum account. Now that'll be handled in Dallas. Of course, as it is, iHeart's cut both Louisville and Lexington to the bone.

This is more of a "forum fight" than a "food fight." Let BigA have his say. (Wait! I can't believe I said that!)
KFC has lost its way. Much like Krystal and Shoney's (and a bit like Cracker Barrel) in neighboring Tennessee.
I guess YUM thinks they can use synergy to fix it. I doubt location matters, as a brand today that is tired and lost.
But, one thing is for sure. They won't ever return it to it roots. My guess, broadcasting wise, is you will see them
reduce advertising by 20-30% over the next year and continue to slide. You may see more co-branding with Taco
Bell spots. Radio tie - both are going down?
