oWOW internet radio

I started an online station exactly 1 year ago this week, Ashland County's Country The Barn. I have no radio experience whatsoever but loved growing up listening to our local country stations in and around Ashland County and missed them. It's a locally centered station meant to serve the rural residents of Ashland and surrounding counties with classic country and bluegrass radio will not play. I do a show weekday mornings from 8-1 where I try to highlight local events and happenings around Ashland. Funny enough some of the most loyal listeners I have do not even live in Ohio. Every month my audience has grown and is now nearing 2000 listeners a month. Not bad after a year (I don't think) for a county with a population of 52,000. I'm not out to make money, I do have a few sponsors who help it break even. And I'm sure to tell them who my audience is, rural, 50+, a lot are in some way tied to or interested in Agriculture. The sponsors I have are businesses that cater to those customers. I also do a weekly show playing local Bluegrass artists from all around Northeast Ohio. It's my most listened to hour every week. Lots of the artists and their fans listen in. I'm not out to make enough money to quit my day job with the station. Just nice hearing all the nice compliments from folks who say they love hearing real country music and bluegrass again!
