Anthony Cumia coming to WABC

Seattle was mostly outside the shock jock sphere except for Tom Leykis and the idiotic BJ and the Men’s Room

I did enjoy this podcadtIMG_8942.jpeg

Hmmm wonder how the current audience will feel about Anthony's brand of talk.

It aims a little younger than most of the current crowd.

Always fascinated me that Seattle was such a strong market for Leykis. Something tells me present-day Seattle wouldn't be as receptive to the brand of talk he was doing in those days, if tried again.

It will be interesting to see what his timeslot and schedule is. Will he get a three-hour show? One hour? A weekend slot of brokered time? Or will he be paid a certain percentage based on ad sales like Rudy reportedly was?

Does WABC have any brokered shows? Why bring that possibility up if it defies logic.

That is an occasional part of on air talent pay packages. It is an accounting nightmare, as ROS spots that run in the show are not specifically sold for that show, so might be excluded. That means every contract has to be analyzed and quantified.

Opie's video, linked on the post above, indicates WABC offered him a share of show revenue, instead of a salary.
Perhaps this is an indication that Anthony was hired under similar terms.

That's pretty much the business model for talk talent now. With ad rates declining, it's hard to promise talent a solid salary without knowing how much revenue that show will attract.
