January 2025 Orlando PPMs

The first book with the new three minute exposure shows some higher cumes but most patterns stay the same for share for the monthly 6+ public numbers

  • Star 94.5 climbs to # 1 up 8.6-10.2 and the only double digit share
  • 1059 Sunny FM appears to climb 7.6-8.4, but the stream was separated out in the holiday book and is now back to single line, so it's actually down 9.4-8.4
  • Magic drops 13.8-7.6 after holiday music but is # 1 cume
  • In an era where many major market and heritage CHR stations are struggling with 2 shares and even a few high 1 shares, XL is up 7.2-7.3 and # 2 cume
  • WMMO is up 4.5-6.3
  • Real Radio is up 4.7-5.7
  • WDBO is up 2.7-4.2
  • WMFE is up 1.4-2.6
Everything else more or less holds steady. 102 Jamz continues to slide, down to 2.9. Mix stays in the 3s at a 3.8 after the holiday book.

Where do you see the Cume? All I see are the Shares.

It looks like quarter hours and cume have basically become the same thing. I just remember the example that come was the people that bought the newspaper and quarter hours were the people that actually read the news paper.

Actually, agencies (pretty much the principal users of ratings) look at rating (and not "share") for station evaluation.

Of course, rating, share and AQH persons are the same thing just expressed in different ways. But agencies seldom use cume for the planning of buys as "rating" shows how many people will hear each add on average during the time periods being bought.

In this case, your analogy is correct if you use AQH persons as the equivalent of those who read a specific part of the newspaper. Cume is kinda' like the number of papers distributed, while AQH Persons is like the number of people who read the editorial on school budgets.

My take on the five to three minute change is that you may gain more exposures, but the meaningful ones were already there.

That said, anything that shows there is additional radio listening that was not previously counted is a good thing. It's good for the medium but I doubt many individual stations will see a remarkable shift.

Click the link above and scroll over in the ratings table to the right.
There's nowhere I can scroll to the right. All I see are Ratings, Station, Name, & Format.

Ugh, never mind. I finally figured it out. The stupid scrolling thing is way on the bottom of the page. I was today years old when I learned this. 🥴

They should really get rid of that email subscribe on the right. It's blocking the whole page from showing.
