A lot of changes. WKQC is #1 in a non-Holiday book for the first time in a while. Also retain the cume lead.

WKKT is ahead of WSOC in AQH. WSOC is way down.

WHQC beats WNKS by almost a share and is in the 4’s.

25-54: 1. WPEG 2. WKQC 3. WBAV 4. WFNZ 5. WEND 10T. WLKO, WNKS & WRFX

I'm very surprised to see WEND scoring higher than WRFX with 25-54 and WRFX scoring higher than WEND with 18-34.

On the other hand, I was riding with my cousin who is 55 and I saw a list of radio stations on the screen that he had been using for GPS. I didn't ask if this was the entire list, but he was playing WKKT (why doesn't that one even show up for 25-54?) though not loud enough that I could really hear in the back. His sister was in the other front seat. The others were WNKS, WEND and WKRR and WSMW from Greensboro. No WKQC?

Both WEND and WRFX are gold based. There is a lot of overlap musically between WRFX, WKQC, WLKO and even WEND. I think that's negatively impacted WRFX's ratings. I think dropping John Boy and Billy is going to hurt them too.

WKKT's audience has always skewed about 10 years younger than WSOC. WKKT usually does better 18-34 and 18-49, while WSOC takes 25-54 and 35-64. I listen to both stations and prefer the music on WKKT and the jocks on WSOC. I'm 33.

An odd combination for a 55 year old. Sometimes cars have stations preprogrammed and people may change a couple of them, but leave the other ones as is. That might be the case here.

WEND's gold is surely a lot newer.

I was under the impression WSOC tried to be the "new country" station. But from what I could hear WKKT sounded pretty bad. Every vocalist had that metallic sound.

Both country stations are current based now. WKKT has been new country since the late 90s. WSOC was a full service country station until around 2010 when they moved to new country, but they still held on to that older audience.

WEND's gold is newer, but they're not sharing the audience with as many other stations.
