LA MEJOR 104.5

Noticed that the 104.5 Translator is now working under the MVS LA MEJOR BRAND. I've seen a few stations in ARIZONA and FLORIDA try this, but it has never worked in the US. The LA GRANDE brand is no more. Something else I noticed was that I'm picking up 2 signals under 104.5 with the same programming but with a 3 Second delay. So either the Guevarra brother man decided to jack up the power at his Bay city Signal or the Bay city signal is carrying further than i have heard it before. I'm hearing the 101.7 is also about to throw in the towel because they cant seem to afford the lease of 2 signals and a HD rent.

"La Mejor" is just a name, not a format. You could play any kind of music you wanted under that name.

Very interesting, La Mejor MVS was on 102.5 for a while. I actually enjoyed it, played lots of Northern Mexico music and lots of Tejano too.

The brand that refuses to die. Been around in one form or another for almost a decade.

How much of a musical difference is there between the La Mejor and La Grande playlists? La Grande seemed to have a lot of talk whenever I tuned across them.

Not a surprise with the launch of La Ley.

Boost Radio is expanding nationally with a format similar to NGEN. 101.7 might be a good place for a Houston outlet.

La Mejor MVS was very different than La Mejor LBC. La Mejor MVS had a heavy northern Mexico format. Playing lots of Tejano and very similar to El Morte.

La Mejor LBC and La Grande were very similar playing more southern Mexico music. Lots of Tierra Caliente.

Is MVS running this La Mejor? Just heard the lady DJ mentioning This big company Latino Broadcasting Corporation which stations are over the Mexican Republic, and in Texas. Seems she doesn’t even know where she’s working at.

So apparently tomorrow is the first day of the full launch. They’re inviting business to go (assuming to the station) they will be letting people air free commercials for the whole week.

What’s going to change? No More Erasmo?
I have heard some commercials still mentioning LA GRANDE.

Not that anyone cares but here goes.

So La Mejor MVS is on a new app named LATINO MAX.
No it’s not the same one as Platino Max.

The Latino Max app has KJOZ as la Mejor MVS 104.5.

Keyh-am as Latino Sports but if you listen it’s airing LA MEJOR LBC

K273AL as 102.5/100.7 LA CALLE

K258BZ as 99.5 ROMANCE

And LA NUEVA but no info on the app about what station it is.

PLATINOMAX still shows CUH RADIO, LA CALIENTE, 1000X, La voz and PLATINOMAX live. But none of them are airing nothing.

Edit to add. CUH RADIO kicked in while I was typing.

rosenberg or richimond i cant remember but it's a real translator i think it was the one that moved dial (i think aleluyah ) use to own it.
K264NC is the translator that was granted a move to 97.3. Gow Media has been fighting against it due to potential interference to KFNC. I don’t think the 97.3 signal is on the air.

I suspect the format operators are confused or misinformed about the supposed 100.7 translator.

It shouldn't. There is an operations manual where MVS Radio dictates that the format must be respected, the programming field is written and must be respected. Unfortunately, these affiliated stations or those in franchise mode operate outside the instructions. Therefore, the only MVS stations that are successful are those that operate directly, and not those affiliated or with franchises like McDonald's.

The only advantage that MVS RADIO has in releasing its formats, production and programming to third parties in the form of franchises is that it has a commercial stake in these stations and can propose a national sale of these stations where third parties operate such concepts as La Mejor, EXA FM and Globo FM but lose control of what goes on the air.

MVS Radio grew a lot in these affiliates or franchises because in the migration of various independent AM stations in Mexico, it carried out a credit program for the installation of FM transmitters and in these contracts a 5-year contract was agreed for the operation of its concepts, in addition to the payment for infrastructure.

From what I read it doesn’t seem like MVS is running it. I read an article but it’s in Spanish. Don’t know if you all want a link.

Mvs is for sure going to be involved directly . Today they had the official launch and presented Oscar Musquiz who programmed LA RAZA 98.5 about 5 years ago and currently programs la mejor from Monterrey and abel quinonez.. will be interesting to see who bites who. It's going to be a hot mess! 2 people that have have not had a single winning horse in many years.
