Buffalo Audacy cuts-Any in Buffalo?

Due to the Audacy cuts, is anyone let go from the Buffalo market?
Or, were there any VTers from other markets let go? Ones that may have been doing some of the VT work for Buffalo from another market? I'm just wondering who might be missing...if anyone at all.

From what RadioInsight is reporting, Buffalo and Rochester seem so far to have been untouched by the job cuts. I would argue, however....what in the HELL is left to cut at any of the stations?

Since Wenger is the guy in charge, it doesn't seem like he'd be among the first cuts.

Big visionaries. People from their c-suite still attend conferences and “teach” radio to others. I would love them to teach me how they pulled off one of the biggest bankruptcies in broadcast history. They should be very proud

Are you talking about Clear Channel/iHeart, Citadel/Cumulus, or Entercom/Audacy? Clear Channel created the model for using bankruptcy to slash debt while writing down the value of their radio properties.

Going all music mid day and letting a VT from another market go, maybe? "The non stop music work day" 😂
Isn't mid day WKSE VT'd from another market?

But how then will listeners know the time and temp during middays?
That is a very good point and a strong indication of how important corporate owned radio is to the community. Many people can't afford a watch and thermometer and depend upon voice tracked announcers to tell them important information from three days ago when the voice track was recorded. Of course those in lower income levels without watches are not in the target audience of today's radio broadcaster. But then again, aren't the people the really want to reach getting their information and entertainment on their phones?

Time and temperature are on their phones or on the information displays in their cars. And of course, if you really want to know how hot or cold it is or whether it's raining or snowing, you can always open a door or a window. Even the poorest, you-don't-matter-to-us-anymore listener can do that.

That can be automated. If you have the right software/provider, it can actually sound good. Most listeners wouldn't know the difference between live or automated. Not that the average listener of KISS is depending on the radio for that information in 2025.

All excellent points.

Well, at least ONE of the last three responses understood the sarcasm.

It simply means that nobody in those markets have gone public yet.
And, judging by the update posted, it's still(sorry)radio silent at 500 Corporate Parkway. Not so in Rochester, where Bo Jaxon exits WBEE's morning show after just a couple of years at the station.

As I recall, they never replaced the previous GM. They just gave Wenger the title. Positions continue to be eliminated or absorbed. Everyone is expendable...
Audacy did replace the previous GM with Tim Wenger, who replaced Greg Reid.

You keep mentioning that "positions continue to be eliminated or absorbed". What positions are you talking about at Audacy Buffalo. Nothing has been eliminated, infact they added an on air personality to WLKK.

Wenger was already working for WBEN. The company didn't hire a new GM. They just gave Wenger additional duties. That qualifies as a position "being absorbed".

If they've added someone to WLKK, then the company really is dysfunctional. The format has been an epic failure.
Audacy dismissed something like 200 people this past week...
