OK this article had done an interview with a Representative of the Defund NPR and PBS movement and they claim that Public Broadcasting attracts "Wealthy Liberal Elites" Umm we partially debunked that argument by looking at the ratings of NPR affiliates in Red States like Texas and they have a sizable audience in the states largest cities. It's not just San Francisco, Boston, and Washington DC that uses and donates to public media.
The article quotes the Media Research Center. It's run by Brent Bozell, who is now part of the administration that is aiming to silence criticism. So it's a biased source. They view all critical opinion as "far left liberal elitist." But it's simply doing what the first amendment intended. The government funding was done to allow its services to be available for free, not behind a paywall, not requiring a subscription, and not beholden to advertisers or their agendas. With so much media moving to pay services, it's even more important now than it was 50 years ago.
The article also quotes Uri Berliner, but what Uri was really advocating was more DEI. That's obviously not what conservatives want. So they're selectively quoting an article whose main premise was seeking MORE, not less funding. This is why you don't see Uri on conservative talk shows.

Or Granite State Challenge (NH), As Schools Match Wits (Western MA/CT), or any of those other high school quiz shows. Those competitions have been staples of public broadcasters for decades. Have right-wingers ever called for their elimination over "woke" subject matter -- black history, women's history, etc.?

More members of Congress comes forward with similar words that always ends in defunding CPB's role in funding the affiliates. This time it's directed at NPR directly. However we run into the press freedom issue every time. Also I seen articles from NPR and the local affiliates, they cite Associated Press and Reuters as the template on how stories and reports are written.
No dem co-sponsors ensures the bill will fail. The fact is that no one in congress knows how federal funds are used. They need to speak with CPB.

I don't see where they want "more money." Just to retain what they have.
Remember, there are folks who use this forum that are ESL persons or who have difficulties in typing. We should be a bit tolerant of spelling and apparent grammar errors. In particular many people dictate to their tablet or phone, and this can cause the wrong spelling aversion of a word to appear; we may not notice that as we continue to dictate.

And saying that the management has “over the top” executive salaries is absurd and offensive. Good managers with fund raising skills are in short supply and deserve what they are paid.
You do realize that there are plenty of good electric vehicle choices that are not Teslas. And to keep this tangentially related to radio, I'll note that most of those non-Tesla EVs still include AM/FM radio reception -- unlike Tesla.
