That's too bad. KVNA was the only commercial AAA in Arizona. I always thought Flagstaff was a perfect AAA market. A college mountain town with a large percentage of upscale income.

Agree, they let the staff have some free rein musically, making a variety of songs. That's too bad. KVNA was the only commercial AAA in Arizona. I always thought Flagstaff was a perfect AAA market. A college mountain town with a large percentage of upscale income.
I agree. I also suspect that the suits at Yavapai Broadcasting have decided that going after older females with a gold-based AC format is more rewarding than the older males the AAA format was attracting.Sounds like it will be similar to the old Sunny 100 format that KVNA-FM had for a long time.
It will be a 3 way battle in Flagstaff for AC listeners. KPPV and KTMG both have translators in Flagstaff that cover the city rather well. KVNA seems to be the most gold based of the three AC Sunny was the previous format before AAA, and wasn't working out So we'll see if they are successful this time around.I agree. It's bold to tout the local aspects of radio while one or two of the formats YBC runs comes from syndication. The editorial below was written by Mike Jensen. He "is the regional director of sales and marketing at Yavapai Broadcasting in Central and Northern Arizona, overseeing stations 95.9 KKLD, 105.7 KVRD, 100.1 KVNA, 96.3 KYBC, and ESPN Radio 104.7 in Flagstaff."
