Should X96.3 do a tribute to the late merenguero Rubby Pérez on Los Coco Clásicos del Domingo con Alipio Coco Cabrera very importantly for everybody because fans in NYC and the world mourns the loss to him.
For those unfamiliar, "merengue" is sort of the traditional urban music of the Dominican Republic. It has faded in recent decades, overcome by bachata (a more "country" rhythmic sound) and the reggaetón wave. At one time, about half of all stations in Santo Domingo played all merengue or some of it mixed with other forms.
