Sunday afternoon, as we were out and about and listening to THE NEW Star 94, they played a promo for something or other that mentioned Kannon and Skye Smith, two air personalities that were laid off nearly two months ago.
Are they even trying over there anymore?
I worked at a cluster of stations, with the AM running the sat fed americas best music format. I had liners cut by the jocks to promote their shows. I left and came back several years later and some of the liners were still running.
Maybe we'll hear a promo for McKee In The Morning before it's over with. LOL
Did you hear what Gary said?Maybe we'll hear a promo for McKee In The Morning before it's over with. LOL
Belinda is still with WSB. She hosts the Atlanta Living show on weekends, which she has been doing for many years. She also has filled in on another weekend show.I don't know what Belinda is doing these days with any radio station, but WSB is still using her for endorsements long after Boortz left WSB.
I would suggest a full market signal in top 10 market should be held to a very different standard than a small town AM running a satellite format.I worked at a cluster of stations, with the AM running the sat fed americas best music format. no doubt. but i do my best regardless of market size and treat the station as much better than whatever market its inI would suggest a full market signal in top 10 market should be held to a very different standard than a small town AM running a satellite format.
Your station wasn't the only one. I heard one in Portland ME doing the same thing. All the "America's Best Music" DJs had been laid off. But the station was still playing promos saying "Hi, I'm John Smith. I play America's Best Music on WXXX every weekday afternoon!"I worked at a cluster of stations, with the AM running the sat fed americas best music format. I thought Boortz retired.WSB yanked the Boortz Vision Computers ads the second he popped up on Xtra.

There's a station near me that's running commercials for a play that closed in early March. They have an ongoing deal with the theatre to run spots for upcoming shows, if I was the client I'd be looking for somewhere else to advertise, and it probably wouldn't be radio.I worked at a cluster of stations, with the AM running the sat fed americas best music format. I literally heard the ad last month, thought "that sounds good", searched it online and found it had ended weeks ago, the spots are still going out in May. Will the last person to bother with commercial radio please turn out the lights?
I'm with ya.Bring back Craig Ashwood...94Q
Doesn't Craig Ashwood have an off-air job with Cox Media? Of course, that was a while back and before Apollo.Bring back Craig Ashwood...94Q
Apparently the Dickeys gave him an offer he couldn't refuse to do recorded daily bits on Xtra and occasional live appearances with the Kimmer.I thought Boortz retired.
