while about the SW radio frequencies, it is radio related so I thought I'd post it here . . . check this article out, I've read concerns by Ham Radio Ops & the U.S. Coast Guard on this subject


Given that these folks want to use shortwave as a sort of coded narrowcasting service for investors, I think that the FCC should really consider giving them frequencies to do this outside of the international broadcasting bands.

I have no problem with pure datacasting services using shortwave. Decades ago the shortwave spectrum was stuffed with all kinds of signals, but large stretches are pretty deserted now. If new and innovative ideas for shortwave transmission technologies can be developed, I’m all for it, but yes, keep it outside the SW broadcast and ham bands.
