Neat! Alaska is kind of "different", and radio waves don't seem to follow normal propagation patterns up there, so I'm not surprisedi can hear it in alaska at night with no problem

Was KYNO ever fully repaired? I know it was down to 10,000 watts after having the ground wires stolen, really hurting it's signal on the west side of the valley. It's been awhile since i've been out that way with a good radio.AM 940 Fresno used to have a listenable nighttime signal into the Central Willamette Valley of Oregon until KWBY Woodburn launched its 230-watt nighttime signal. That was several decades ago. Comparing KMJ's to KYNO's AM signal is no match. KMJ performs better during the daytime along the I-5 - listenable almost up to Red Bluff.
Huh, I did not know that. Was KYNO ever fully repaired? I know it was down to 10,000 watts after having the ground wires stolen, really hurting it's signal on the west side of the valley. It's been awhile since i've been out that way with a good radio.
Yeah, that was probably related to the unusually extreme auroral conditions we were experiencing during that G5 solar storm back in May. All kinds of signals were coming in weirdly. Some were stronger, others weaker. It was interesting.Earlier this year KYNO boomed into Boise. That was not their normal signal here. They're back to just in there but not strong.
So that mean's they probably did. We discussed it on this forum, but it may not have been it's own topic. The signal was really hurt on the north side of Fresno.Huh, I did not know that.
They must have repaired it, as their signal has consistently gotten much stronger lately. And more consistently so than propagation patterns would suggest.

That's probably not going to work out for the 99.9 folks either, they complained K272GD off of 99.7Today, Dan Alpert, lawyer for DeLawder Communications, filed to TOLL the application for the Muscatel-Fresno K261FF modification to move to 100.1 from 100.3, increase power from 25 to 250 watts, move the antenna to downtown Fresno, and continue to employ a directional pattern . This tolling is because of the "translator protection zone" protests from 100.3 KMAK Orange Cove and 99.9 KCIV Mount Bullion.
I have driven thru that part of town "Muscatel" daily for several years as my job, I have never heard this 25 watt 100.3, just KMAK, it doesn't exist, something is fake there.Today, Dan Alpert, lawyer for DeLawder Communications, filed to TOLL the application for the Muscatel-Fresno K261FF modification to move to 100.1 from 100.3, increase power from 25 to 250 watts, move the antenna to downtown Fresno, and continue to employ a directional pattern . I've tried as well. Also KFRR doesn't need a translator!I have driven thru that part of town "Muscatel" daily for several years as my job, I have never heard this 25 watt 100.3, just KMAK, it doesn't exist, something is fake there.
Bott had forms ready for their listeners this time! Good for them. The Ginger Broadcasting application for 100.1 translator power increase in Muscatel (Fresno) has seen some action. Apparently the joint petition for reconsideration was granted 5/15 . Could someone explain further?
..."K261FF (the "Translator"), due to predicted interference to regular listeners of both KCIV and KМАК...." There even appears to be false claims for relay certifications in the original application.
