It's how you posted. Not what you posted about.
This board isn't like Facebook, where one can throw up a random image, dangle a cryptic announcement and then just assume everybody will just automatically figure it out. We appreciate upfront clarity. Could you tell us about yourself and your involvement with the program for those not yet introduced?
I was expecting something more like this:
I kinda thing of Yacht Rock as Beach Classic Hits. We carry a YR show, Yacht Rock Radio with Captain Adam Sunday nights at 7 on our NPR station. I picked it up when I began seeing there was a small subset of people who liked "rock" but not the harder stuff that we often play here.
Weather Lance is "spot on" or not, you need to address me in a respectful manner. Just keeping it real.
I'm going to say this and then I'm done with it. I posted that, to announce that the show was back on for the summer. I DID NOT POST ON HERE, to receive alot of backlash and criticism. Didn't say nothing insulting or offensive, but it appears that a majority on here is. Be that way together, because I'm not interested in your negative energy.
He was plenty respectful.. how you think thats not is beyond me. I'm with bturner.. and ive done this on fb.. post a random pic on my profile, say nothing and let people guess. this is not fb
What show? Is it on the radio? A podcast? Some streaming platform? An Apple Music playlist? A YouTube video? A mixtape that you made and play on your boombox?
Context would be useful.
Nobody is seeing this as insulting or offensive? We don’t know what it is.
But your over the top reaction is worrisome. All everyone in this thread was looking for was clarity.
Is Club Yacht Rock on Sirius XM?
They have a year-round Yacht Rock Radio channel, 311, that pops up during the summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) on a lower channel. This year, it's on channel 15.

Smooth-sailing soft rock from the late '70s and early '80s. It's the kind of rock that doesn't rock the boat!
All anyone was complaining about was your Facebook-type post. Is a little detail, like some info on the show, like what time/channel, featured artists, maybe your own background (former stations, any programming experience, that kind of thing), asking too much? It's kind of like a cover letter, where you have to sell yourself. There's hundreds of Yacht Rock programs and podcasts out there. What makes yours the best? A promo photo and blurb alone won't cut it. That's all.
The Facebook pic/cryptic blurb thing is such an irritating cliche on that platform now, people just roll their eyes and scroll past it. People over 50 (the primary Yacht Rock audience demo) especially don't get it. Nobody likes head games. Then the posters complain why turnout is so low. There's more mature and effective ways of promoting a radio program.
All we're asking for is is just some introductory information about the show, yourself, your media background. Featured artists. A reason to listen. The music is everywhere. It won't sell the show by itself. What makes the show is the host. Is that you?
This is also a community. We'd love to get to know you. No one is attacking you personally and maybe you didn't know any better with the photo. But please going forward (especially if you're not an established name yet), please tell potential listeners about yourself and your program in your promotional posts. That could make all the difference.
In the Carolinas, Beach Classic Hits is something totally different.
Respect has to be mutual. You demonstrated a lack of respect to all the users of this site by posting a silly picture that has nothing to do with a radio or TV station or anything related to them.
