Phoenix April 2025 ratings

Phoenix Big jump by 100.7 KSLX (5.9 to 7.5) to jump past 99.9 KEZ (8.4 to 7.3). Also noticed too further down in the ratings that KAIZ (Air1) 105.5 (1.6) did better than both K-Love stations KLVK 89.1 (0.8) & KLVA 89.9 (0.7). I know EMF/K-Love Inc probably could care less as they're more into station acquisitions & such, but seeing this in terms of ratings, if it becomes a trend down the road, wouldn't they want to put K-Love on the more lucrative full-market coverage 105.5 frequency than having it split as is covering the East & West Valley, they've done signal upgrades in other markets in the past for sure.

KOAI has dropped to its lowest share yet. Those playlist changes are definitely driving listeners away.

KZCE has now bounced ahead of both KALV and KZZP.

It also looks like both KOOL-FM and its Audacy stream have been gaining listeners. And While KOAI has been losing listeners, KAZG hasn't been gaining any.

ON the AM side, KNAI is now the second most-listened to station after KFYI, and it appears that both have been gaining listeners.

KFYI listeners never turn their radios off...even when sleeping, or at room temperature. Look at their cume - it's even smaller than KAZG's.

I think the bigger issue for KOAI is that they are now using a new 2.8 KW ERP Auxiliary transmitter on the White Tanks Mountain in place our their main 41 KW ERP signal off of Towers Mountain. The signal in the north part of the metro and the overall signal density is lower now. I think they may have hurt a good chunk of their listener base. If you can't pick it up, and ain't gonna listen.

..and their audio quality used to be pretty good despite source material issues..now its hard to listen to. All 'pumpy' and compressed, I agree with you on the signal issue as well. Why not use Towers, unless they have tech issues up there.

I thought it was against FCC rules to run full time permanently from the AUX site?...

I like Bruce & Gaydos - the "War Room" is at least a lively debate segment from different guests. Ramsey's unlistenable to me, and I haven't heard anything from Chris and Joe that motivates me to keep tuning in.

I tuned in to both 95.1 and 94.9 as I was driving through Phoenix last weekend. The audio quality is horrible - overly compressed to the point of distortion. Although I liked the music selections, I had to turn it off after 20 minutes as the terrible audio quality was giving me a headache.
