Magic 93 WMGS PD out

Just noticed over on Radio Insight as Lance mentioned that Stan Phillips, the PD and afternoon host on Magic 93 was among the talent that was let go as part of the massive Cumulus cuts. This was a bit surprising because despite all the layoffs that are going on within the company, Scranton/W-B was thought to be exempt from these cuts. Not anymore.

I sometimes hear Stan on the station, most notably when I go to a store or my local dentist with the station playing in the background. He, along with Frankie Warren have been with the station for decades ever since it was under Susquehanna ownership.

With Stan’s departure, this leaves Frankie Warren as the only longtime(and OG) talent left on the station.

Another horrible move by Cumulus.

Right. Especially when they had to flip 93.7/95.7 to a simulcast of a popular Lehigh Valley station that no one living in this market has ever heard of.

Getting back to Magic, at least they are still live and local. For now.....

Barely. AM local. Middays and PM drive voice tracked from Allentown. Juke box most of the rest of the time.
